Athletic Information:

What sport do you compete in?

How did you get started in your sport?

After a health scare, I decided to start running. Then I joined a charity long distance bike ride. Once I was doing those two sports, I thought if I added swimming in, I’d be able to compete in triathlons…I haven’t looked back!

Why did you continue with your sport?

It is so much fun! It also keeps me very active and I get to improve my skills in three sports at once!

How did you get into teaching/training others?

I’ve been teaching high school Health & Physical Education for almost 20 years and have been training clients for almost that long too. I got into it because of my love of sports and helping others!

What is your favorite workout, why?

I love a long run, it really gives me a chance to clear my mind and enjoy the outdoors.

What affect has Amrita had on your training?

Joining the Amrita team has been awesome. The community is great and the bars have truly made a big impact on my training. They taste great, digest easily and provide me with energy when I need it.

What is your favorite race, why?

So far my favourite race was Ironman Texas. It was my first at that distance and such a huge challenge for me!

What is your pre-race / warm-up routine?

Relax, mentally focus and visualize what I’m about to do.

What gets you most excited to compete?

Knowing that the training is “in the bank” and all the work has been done. The race is the time to enjoy the fruit of my labor!

What gives you an advantage over your competition?

I am strong and determined. I am very dedicated and strong willed.

What are some resources you use for information on training, diet, etc?

I live a plant-based lifestyle and love it! The Amrita cookbook is awesome! We make a lot of recipes at home that we post on our website. Brendan Brazier’s “Thrive” and his videos on are awesome resources for diet and training. I also get lots of help with my training from Brett at
