What sport do you compete in?

Yoga, Triathlon, Running

How did you get started in your sport?

After having my children I decided to try triathlons. I completed my first sprint in 2009 and four days later was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then I have completed several sprints and olympic triathlons and one 70.3. I have ran three NYC Marathons, and a dozen or so 1/2 marathons.

How did you get into teaching/training others? aimee

I started running back in NYC 20 something years ago because it was the cheapest thing I could afford. All I needed was clothes and shoes. Each time I conquered a race I would add a new one.
Yoga happened along the way but it wasn’t until about 5 years ago that I started to practice more. I became an RYT 2 years ago and can’t imagine not teaching yoga.

What is your favorite workout, why?

Recently it has been BAPTISTE POWER YOGA – it clears my mind, opens my spirit and gives be a sense of power. I just wish there was more places around here to practice it!!!

I also love to get on my bike, every year I do a big Ride to raise money for cancer survivors. It is amazing how empowering it can be to push your self. May not always feel good during but feels amazing after!

What affect has Amrita had on your training?

I have used Amrita bars throughout and it has made life much easier. I used to try and create my own nutrition for long work outs. Now I don’t have to. I completed level 1 baptitste power yoga in June and if it wasn’t for my Chocolate Maca bars I would not have made it through the morning practices.
