What is something most people don’t know or would be surprised to learn, about you? 

I competed in track & field for 10 years with a best showing of Bronze at the National Track & Field Championships in the Triple Jump in 2013.


What motivates/inspires you?

I gain most of my inspiration from the wilderness that surrounds us, both in the obvious ways (National Parks, and National Scenic Trails), as well as in the minutiae of daily life (green spaces, gardens, farms). I've learned early on that I am happiest and healthiest in nature. The more time I can spend in the field, the more motivated I am to be my best self.

Tell us more about your nutritional philosophy

I prefer a clean, minimally processed, plant based diet but I also burn upwards of 7,000 calories a day. Nutrition is of utmost importance to the success of my trips and I take it very seriously! At the same time I enjoy good food and love to munch on natural, tasty ingredients.
