What is something most people don’t know or would be surprised to learn, about you?
What motivates/inspires you?
I'm always driven to do my best, and try to do better each day. We only have one life to live, and I really want to push myself to live up to my potential athletically, in business, and personally. This motivates me to work hard on my business, train and race hard in triathlon, and travel to see other parts of the world when I can.
Tell us more about your nutritional philosophy
I went vegan 2 years ago for environmental reasons, and have subsequently learned more about the health and ethical benefits of being plant-based. As a competitive triathlete, I was initially concerned about going plant-based and still being a healthy athlete so I did a lot of research before going 100% plant-based. It took me about 6 months to transition fully. I wanted to set myself up for success and ingrain good habits that would last a lifetime. I then signed up with my coach, TriMarni, who is vegetarian and a sports RD. I know she could support me on my journey and offer professional advise on staying healthy. My nutritional philosophy boils down to Food is Fuel - for your life, your health, and your activities. Good fuel in = good results out.
